Wine Tour and trekking inside

the Ancient Bandama volcano

 

We invite you to a cultural & active tour visiting to several vineyards in Tafira, famous for its wine-cellar (near Las Palmas City) and also enjoying hiking, part of our rural tourism, well developed in these last years. We will be able to appreciate and walk inside an ancient boiler, dated more than 4.000 years old, a real Volcano inactive today.

 

 

Decription

 

TOUR NAME: Vineyards and hiking in the Bandama boiler (in collaboration with Nortetrek: experts in active tourism).

 

LUGAR: Boiler of Bandama and vineyards aprox up to 10 km distance from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria capital.

Service days are from Monday to Friday, and could change depending on weather conditions either season of cruises.

Schedules: Departure of the route from the City Las Palmas G.C. at 10 a.m. We will confirm the meeting point to the clients.

It is important to book this tour in advance as very reduced groups.

duraTIOn: aprox. 4 hours.

LANGUAGES: English and Spanish. Other languages available for groups with prior reservation, subject to availability, such as German, Russian or French, etc.

PRICE: 29,00 adult. Special prices for groups. It includes transport from Las Palmas City.
Children 12,50 €. From 8 till 15 years.

Difficulty: medium (not recommended for people with disabilities or reduced mobility, asthma and heart problems).

Tour description:
In order to avoid high temperatures during our tour walk, we will do first the visit for the volcano. Descend into a volcano on a route of only 200 meters down ( 1km. diameter) in the famous and spectacular boiler of Bandama. There we could appreciate not only geological interest and plants, but also archaeological, since it is placed the cave of los Canarios.
For those not interested in hiking or by reduced mobility, we will make a Tour to the Canarian Garden, the botanical world's largest Spain, while the rest of the Group down the caldera.
After the hiking tour (aprox. 90 minutes total) we will be visiting vineyards. The Vid (grape plant) was the main crop of Gran Canaria, between the 16th and 18th centuries. The port of Las Palmas, were exported the famous island wines to the new world, Africa, and Europe. We will visit some wineries, such as Plaza Perdida, Los Lirios, etc. and taste our local wines, such Listan Negro, Malvasia, Moscatel.
